Confidentiality |

All records, both hard copy and computerized, are kept in such a manner that they are confidential to the staff of the Occupational Health Service. The contents of Occupational Health Records are only disclosed upon the written authority of the person to whom they refer, via a Lawyer or upon receipt of a Court Order. Consultations with a member of staff of the Occupational Health Service are in confidence and medical information will not be disclosed to a third party without written informed consent. Information about a person's fitness to work or to perform certain functions may be passed to a third party i.e. requesting Manger/HR Officer but this information will not contain medical details. Information about a person's status with regards to immunity to hepatitis B may also be passed to his/her manager without a breach of confidentiality, if appropriate for job being undertaken. Monitoring of the take up of any aspect of the Occupational Health Service will ensure individual anonymity. |
